Diana Munro of Worksop Ramblers is the latest person to be featured in our occasional series of "Secret Life of a Rambler". We're constantly looking for new people to interview so if you are remotely interesting.... you could be next!
You can read about Diana's likes, dislikes and much more HERE.
Chris Thompson took on the new role of Heritage & Tourism Paths Officer at the last Area AGM. He has a vast wealth of knowledge about the Rights of Way in Nottinghamshire and was instrumental in the creation of the Robin Hood Way. His latest project is a new book of Nottinghamshire walks.
Chris has written an open letter to Ramblers members and groups to invite your help in compiling walks for the new book.
Click HERE for a sample of how to write a walk. Please note a map will be put together by the management committee. All you would be required to do is to pencil in the route on a copy of a map to show your route with relative numbers to the description of each section of your walk. Assistance in writing up any history of key points visited on the walk would also be greatly appreciated.
Jim Norris, Notts Area Countryside Officer, is leading for the Ramblers on the HS2 route through Notts and has met with the HS2 lead.
Please click HERE for details of the forthcoming consultation events. There are 2 in Notts - 22nd June at Trowell and 27th June at Long Eaton which you may wish to attend though you can also attend any of the others.
