Ramblers members plus their friends and families are invited to come along to a Members' Day event at the Idle Valley Nature Reserve, Retford on Saturday 6th August.
There will be a choice of three walk distances plus competitions and children's activities.
WALK 1 is approximately 7 miles and goes around the reserve and the lake area. WALK 2 is approximately 5.5 miles and goes around the reserve only. WALK 3 is approximately 1.5 miles and goes around the lake (ideal for families with younger children). Walks 1 & 2 will start at 10.30am and be accompanied by Reserve Wardens who will answer questions about the Reserve as we walk. Walk 3 is self-guided.
We have two 2016 OS Explorer Maps and other prizes to be won.
There are plenty of things for children to do at the reserve with their own play area and exploration areas. Children also have the chance to go on a bug hunt and do some plaque rubbings – kits are free but they MUST be ordered in advance from Judith on 01777 838 763 as numbers are limited.
Packed lunches (vegetarian or meat) can be ordered at £5 – book these through Judith as above.
The Visitor Centre will be open throughout the day from 10am selling drinks and refreshments.
Parking at the Reserve is free but there is a voluntary car park charge scheme – please consider paying £1.50.
