Secret LIfe of a Rambler
Janet Rix - Newark Ramblers

I have always enjoyed the great outdoors and it seemed logical to join Ramblers to support their footpath and countryside access work. I have learned a lot about my local area and made many good friends along the way. Encroaching age and dodgy hips and knees mean that I can no longer walk the distances I once did. However, I have many fond memories to look back on, and when I join Julia Bradbury on some of her TV walks I can truthfully say. Been there, done that - and in some cases even got the T-shirt!
(Janet is being too modest about her achievements - she has been a stalwart member for many years. She was previously secretary of Newark Ramblers and has also served on Area Council as Membership Secretary. And that's a great photo of her with her late husband, Geoff, on a bluebell walk in Derbyshire!)
